Fully Restored Regency Mahogany Wilkinson Patent Extending Dining Table.
This Wilkinson Patent table is in the form of a drop leaf table that extends using the “Lazy Tongs” scissor action mechanism. The table pulls apart allowing space for four leaves to be fitted.
Standing on 6 legs it is a very stable table. At some point this table has had an additional two legs made which can be added for even more stability when fully extended.
The castor wheels are later replacements.
There is king wood inlay around the edging of the top and at the top of the legs.
With 4 leaves (2 are later veneered plywood)

William Wilkinson traded from 14 Ludgate Hill, London from 1808 till 1820 when it became Wilkinson & Son. He specialised in patented designs and sold many different types of furniture.
